Sky conquerors is a multiplayer third-person jetpack shooter. The players face eachother in a free-for-all deathmatch.
Besides the game development itself each teammember had an area of expertise that they wanted to improve themselves in. Mine was system design, and thus I made a system for effectivly making weapons in future production.
The blueprint I made for the weapons could easily switch values so that any combination could be quickly tested. The difference between a rifle and a shotgun was only one variable away. A rapid fire rocket launcher was just a matter of switching on the warhead-function on a minigun-based weapon.
Despite the fact that the idea was simple the game suffered from poor time management. I let everyone take their time with their areas of expertise instead of quickly getting a functioning prototype, and we found ourselves with a prototype that didn’t have a lot of time for testing.
